Research

GESY

Prof. Schmidt is speaker of the collaborative research center (SFB) “Governance and the Efficiency of Economic Systems” (GESY) and team leader of the sub project A4 “Incomplete Contracts”. Economists from the universities of Bonn, Berlin, Mannheim and Munich participate in this research center, which is funded by the DFG since 2004.

MELESSA

Prof. Schmidt is founding director and deputy speaker of the “Munich Experimental Laboratory for Economic and Social Sciences (MELESSA)”. There are 15 professors from four different departments involved in this experimental laboratory. It was created in 2007 with the support of the “Excellence Initiative of the German federal government” and is now funded by the participating chairs and departments.

CESifo

Prof. Schmidt is program director of the “Center for Economic Studies (CES) and area coordinator of the CESifo Network Area on Behavioral Economics ” (together with Prof. Ernst Fehr).

BBAW

Prof. Schmidt is a member of “Berlin-Brandenburgische Academy of Sciences” (BBAW).

Prof. Schmidt is chairman of the Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
